Faking Normal

Rate this book
In this non-fiction collection of stories, readers will see themselves in Ramona Mudd's candid portrayal of the roles she has juggled in her life: child, parent, friend, colleague, spouse. Short vignettes will reveal the journey of one woman who made it out of her sheltered childhood, past her melodramatic adolescence, and was well into her second marriage before realizing she has no idea what she is doing. Ever. From the emails that begin each chapter, to the stories written within, Faking Normal offers definitive proof that life strikes a fine balance between meaning and nonsense. With a voice that is, by turns, bittersweet and lighthearted she celebrates the will it takes to hold on through life at its worst, life at its best, and life at its most ridiculous.

Written by a genuine great individual. I have the honor of calling Mona my friend. It reads with a real sense of life experienced, and written with a easy sense of conversation. It is also surreal that I was a chapter. Mona showed me a side of myself that I didn't realize at the time.
