Lauren Avery has been divorced for four weeks, she has to fill in for her Senator father at a charity function when she starts to feel really ill. And she now knows she’s pregnant. The problem is, four months ago, she had a one-night stand with a handsome cowboy who is most likely the father. Lauren and her ex-husband’s marriage was mostly a marriage to please her father, and fidelity was not an issue. But the paparazzi have been hunting her all through the divorce, and Lauren’s father is campaigning on family values; there’s a big problem there. Lauren had always wanted children, but it never happened with her husband. Nobody must know…

Cash Rodriguez is the cowboy in question, he has never wanted children for personal reasons. And he has been pining after Lauren since they were in high school, but she was out of his league, and still is. But she must not have this baby, his baby…

THE LONESOME COWBOY is not the type of book you want to read when you’re feeling down, or having a bad day. It’s dark, there are very serious issues examined; it’s a hard book to read. Ms. Klein is an expert at depicting angst, internal torment, and tension, and this book is filled with those. The tension, the pain, the conflicts became mine while I read, and it was almost too much to identify with the character’s despair. On the other hand, I have never read such realistic bull riding sequences, and those are not rosy either. THE LONESOME COWBOY is an excellent read, but do not expect to be laughing out loud; it’s serious stuff, but exceptionally well done, and the plot twists will leave you reeling.

I thought this was a wonderfully written story showing drinking and sex don't mix, hidden feelings don't help; a story of two different people wanting to prove themselves. When your brought together due to a night of passion, then decide to try and make it work, will it work for all the wrong reasons? To make it worse, tragedy strikes making it even harder to show and give love. You feel the fear, desires, and anguish brought on by this one night, but along the way you feel what's really in the heart. The writer makes you understand both sides of the story and, for me anyway, wants both sides to come together and be happy. If you love cowboys and romance your going to love this story, and you'll learn that not every story can be filled just with happiness.

Lauren has only been divorced four weeks and is helping her Senator father at a charity function when she feels ill. She realizes she is pregnant and not from her husband but a one night stand with a sexy bull rider. Her marriage wasn’t one for love but the paparazzi is following her divorce as her Senator father is running on family values. Lauren has always wanted kids and now is her chance. This is an emotional read. Have the tissues ready. The characters are amazing the story a roller coaster of emotions. I really enjoyed it.

It started out great! Lots of angst and just outrage on the poor heroine 's predicament. I mean the author knows how to get you involved in the scenario, you're involved in what's occuring right in the middle of the page especially with how outrageous it all seems at people's involvement. I was hoping the story will capitalize on that and take us into an indepth look of how these 2 characters meet, how their feelings develop and trust / love spiral over time but unfortunately, the story just spiraled into a rush for me towards the end. It became disjointed, pieced together too much and left off the romance, it focused toomuch on the angst. Angst is good, but it has to be balanced to pull off a great romance and this failed in my opinion. Which is very sad because when I started the story, I was very excited to see where the author will take it after the big scandal reveal... it had potential to be an absolute page turner if they'd fleshed out the story. Developed the characters, buildup, romance, the readers read to have something to look forward to... you keep cutting it off, skipping plots. You end up with a disjointed read that becomes forgettable really quick. Maybe the author has the chance to redo the story, it certainly has an originality at the start to boost a fantastic in depth plotline.

One drunken night and he gets the girl of his dreams but does he want the result that comes from it

The Lonesome Cowboy is the third book in the In The Heart of Texas series and tells the story of Cash and Lauren. This story is sweet and lovely, well there are some emotional parts also. But Lauren is a wonderful woman who has always wanted to have a family and children. But when she is told that will almost be impossible her slimeball of a husband up and leaves her. Well a one night stand with Cash, as bull riding PBR Champion and rodeo star, and his Alpha swimmers have gotten the gold medal and all the rewards as she finds herself pregnant. So now what does she do..........have the baby of course and do it on her own. But things are not quite as easy as that as there is her father's political career to deal with and also Cash's aversion to marriage and fatherhood. So what will Lauren do about her father and his plans for her and also Cash and his issues? I voted that she move to a different state and leave them both behind to start over with her baby. But then again my vote doesn't really count and this is a cowboy romance which needs an HEA...............so you can guess who finally steps up and decides not to be so lonesome any more.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Lauren has just been divorced for a month when she finds out she is finally pregnant. She had tried for five years with her ex but one passionate encounter with a.handsome cowboys has done the trick. Chase was a bull rider. Who had secretly been drawn to Lauren, now all of a sudden he gets a text that he is going to be a daddy. With tragic pasts and present stresses can they even begin a relationship?.

This is a wonderful heartwarming contemporary romance between a cowboy and an a Senator’s daughter. The characters are well crafted.complete with flaws and difficult pasts. They are personable and drew me into their story even though everything seems stacked against them, I found myself rooting for them. The narrative was great allowing insight into the character’s emotions and motivations. The author takes us on an emotional rollercoaster as the characters try to overcome their fears and insecurities and work through all the obstacles being put in their way. The storyline flows quickly and smoothly with emotional drama, touching scenes, surprises, twists and suspense. This is a love story that touches your heart leaving you feeling good and wanting to read more from this author.

Cash and Lauren are polar opposites he was raised up by a schizophrenic bull rider father and a mother , his family didn’t have much money and Lauren grew up in wealth with a father running for Congress. One night after her divorce she goes to a bar gets drunk, hitched a ride from Cash and they sleep together

She doesn’t contact him and then she finds out she has a bun in the oven for the bull rider, thinking she could not have kids that’s why her first arranged marriage failed. How does she tell Cash really she doesn’t have to the media takes care of that.

Cash and Lauren are on the bull ride of their lives all because of her father’s election. Even though these two seem to be really different they are both alike they both are alone in the world.

Can Cash and Lauren survive the media. I really did enjoy their story and I can’t wait to read more of this series. I voluntarily received an arc copy through Booksprout for my honest review.

Lauren Avery just wants the one thing she can’t buy—a child of her own. But with her being divorced, that would just feed the gossip rags and with her father's political campaign heating up that would not be good.

Professional bull rider, Cash Rodriquez was raised by his schizophrenic bull rider father and a mother has loved Lauren since high school, but she's out of his reach and out of his league. He was raised without a lot of money and she comes from a wealthy family.

When Lauren and Cash end up at the same bar and have one drunken night together, that mistake can change everything. When Cash sees a tweet about a pregnant Lauren, he wonders if his nightmare of becoming a father just became reality.

A great story that's well written and has strong characters who are more alike than they realize.

Four weeks after her divorce Lauren finds herself pregnant from a one night stand with a bull rider.
Senator's daughter Lauren is only four past her messy divorce being final when she finds she is pregnant from one night of drunken pleasure in the front of his truck with bull rider Cash Rodriguez. Aware of how the news could effect her father's campaign for re-election she knows she must keep it quiet but somehow the news she was pregnant had appeared on the Twitter #AskAvery hashtag that her father had started. How could she tell Cash and how was she going to deal with the press to stop it impacting on her Father's campaign,

This story has hope as a theme, I felt – both Lauren and Cash have lost that and regain it through each other and their growing relationship. Their backgrounds are explored in a way that makes sense to the reader, their current actions link logically to those backgrounds, and their behavior is believable on that basis as well. It’s rare for me to really like most of the characters in a book, but I certainly did that for this book. It’s the kind of book you need to read when life is getting you down – this will help to get you back up again.

This was such a sweet story. Lauren is a daughter of a politician, recently divorced. And she is also pregnant, but the news cannot get out, because it's an election time and that would have been a scandal her father would not approve of. On the other hand, you have a bull rider Cash Rodriguez, who watches the news while the story about Lauren is spilled all over the news at the same time, he gets a very important news of his own-via phone message. This was a third book in the series, my first read from this author which I liked a lot. The characters were likeable, story relatable and sweet. 5 stars. A surprise baby romance with a cowboy! 💞❤️️🤠💞

All Lauren wanted a family of her own... and that included a child. But after being told that it would be nearly impossible for her to get pregnant, her husband left her. So when she finally realizes that she's pregnant following a one night stand with rodeo star, Cash, she is elated. And determined to keep it a secret for as long as she can. However, that's not the way it's going to work out.😉💗🔥💕

This is the third book of the In The Heart of Texas series and needs to read in that order since it is definitely a continuation of the interconnected series.💖

Here we have truly a heartfelt story that ticks in a lot of boxes while reading it! Iis for a long part quite sad to read and almost brought the waterworks into overdrive!. I am sure that somewhere and probably more than anyone dreams of there are lots of kids going through something similar as our hero here does when he is a small kid. I liked reading this one and both the hero and the heroine were good characters as were the rest who appeared in this story. So four stars easily!

This is a sweet romance about getting things you did not know you wanted and the things you did.
Avery has always wanted a baby, but even fertility treatments did not help and her husband divorced her, for his pregnant girlfriend.
Cash set behind Avery for all 4 years of high school he always wanted her.
A one night stand gives Cash, Avery and gives her, her baby. Now what are they going to do, they never thought they would be in this place.

What a fantastic read. Lauren and Cashs story really grabs your attention and keeps you there till the very end. One unexpected night in the front seat of a truck gives Lauren her dream, but for Cash it's a possible nightmare. They need to learn to communicate and open themselves for love or loose everything. Fantastic storyline with the emotional turmoil of anyone scared to fall in love.

Two lonely people, myriad of different reasons why they couldn't work. One wild night and a baby changes everything for both ash and Lauren. With her accidental pregnancy a public relations nightmare for her father, will a quickie marriage be their saving grace.
But Cash has his own fears holding him back and when an unexpected occurrence happens, will they manage to survive to the very end.
A well written emotional story, that will have you rooting for these two to the very end.

An absolute page-turner.
This is a rather dark story showing the pitfall of drinking than having sex because it brings a whole sequence of events together. The author did a splendid job of showing the characters' emotions, their fears the writing was in depth and you keep reading just to see if these two make it. This was a book that I did not expect. I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
