Maggie's Moon: A Novel

Rate this book
At ten, Maggie draws on her faith in God to endure the hardships of living in poverty with her single mother Sarah, who ails from malnutrition and depression. Maggie seeks God by talking to Mr. Moon at night until she is disturbed by her mother’s weeping. She searches to uncover past secrets. After getting medical attention, Sarah meets and marries Parker Manning, an upstanding young attorney and heir to a real estate fortune. A life of wealth cannot change Maggie’s spirit. While at the ranch, she forms the Maggie’s Moon Club, with her friends Kathryn and Josh, to help the less fortunate Emily who is abused by her uncle. Maggie struggles with faith after the death of her mother, until she accidentally finds her brother once thought dead in a fire. She then begins to understand God’s plan for her.
