Published in 1995, 'Forge of Freedom' is a summary of 'American Aircraft Production in World War II'. A brief yet informative text is supported by over 470 period photos, many of them focussing on aspects of the manufacturing process including panoramic views of massive production lines as well as posed publicity shots of many variations of 'Rosie the Riveter'. The pics are mostly well captioned, although things get a little muddled in the photos of the P-51 Mustang. Overall, a fine volume.
