Mackintosh's botanical works have been favorites for years, so I was pleased to find this little book at the local library. The reproduced sketches, watercolors and interior designs are the stars, of course, but Robertson's text is sensitive and illuminating. I particularly enjoyed her discussions of CRM's interest in symbolism and allegory. Check out some of his art here.
