There's not a lot of story here, in this book about a cat hunting mice on a moonlit night. The text has a poetic sound, with the watching Moon personified. What I like best about this book are the illustrations by Will Hillenbrand, whose dark gray tabby looks black in the absence of moonlight, and whose use of blues and grays make you feel like you're out by the pond on a peaceful, cool summer night with Cat. In fact, the illustrations remind me a bit of those of Arthur Rackham. A very atmospheric book, nice for a before-bedtime readaloud. Recommended, especially for cat lovers.
