A Shaman's Tale: Path to Spirit Consciousness

Rate this book
According to a 2009 Harris Poll, 42% of American adults believe in ghosts and paranormal activities. Through candid and powerful anecdotes, meditation teacher and spiritual counselor Richard Alaniz guides his readers to an understanding of the purpose of spirit manifestations and multi-dimensional beings. A Shaman’s Tale provides answers to questions about the paranormal, mysticism, and the mysteries of life and death. It is also an autobiographical narrative about one man’s journey to spiritual awareness - a journey that is not a religious or political one, but one that transcends dimension, space, and time. Based on his experience as a shaman and his encounters with the paranormal, Richard Alaniz shows how paranormal experiences can illuminate a spirit world to those who are in search of higher consciousness.

Reading the personal journey of someone’s life and spirituality has been an awe-inspiring experience. Any belief system is near and dear to the one who believes in it, so to put it all out there for everyone to read takes some bravery and confidence. This book was very matter-of-fact and no-fuss. The explanations he used to compare things to help us understand what he was saying worked amazingly.

He has forever changed how I feel about using the phrase "believe in" and "I know this", as there is definitely a difference when it comes to your spiritual beliefs. Richard also opens up about some hard personal moments with passed family members and their "visits" to him. So much controversy can be had over whether this is possible, but for those who have gone through this, it is comforting to read someone else's experience as well.

Another aspect that I loved about this book was the history and cultural learning involved with his life and teachings. I found it fascinating, I just love reading anything about other cultures!

After just a few chapters in I was inspired to look up the author's website and I really fell in love with it. Very real, down to earth and not spiritually "cheesy" like a lot of websites, Richard gets down to business about his life's journey and really shows you how he lives his life and "walks the walk" of his beliefs.
