I was so looking forward to this book after getting it from the bookstore. But I hate to say I'm extremely disappointed. I got as far as chapter 5 and couldn't take anymore.

It was all over the place. There was no flow, or indication of where the story was going. It was mostly page after page of backstory and random subject shifts, with very little dialogue. Part of me wanted to stick it out, just sure that it would improve once the drawn-out and tedious character establishments were done. But I couldn't bring myself to keep going, especially knowing that this book is well over 400 pages.

I wish this author well, though this doesn't drive me to want to check out any of her other works, I hate to say.
