What makes some people far more successful? More effective as leaders, with peers and co-workers, and at home with kids? Nationally-known success and leadership expert Susan Collins teaches 10 skills she discovered highly successful individuals use consistently, even though they don't realize it. Are you using all 10, are you teaching all 10? And if you were, what changes would this make in your life? In your children's lives?
How to be a role model of success for the next generation The third installment in Susan Ford Collins’ “the Technology of Success” series is all about leading our children to success. This book can easily stand-alone from the other books, as it covers a lot of the same material. Just like they show you on an airplane when you have to take care of your own oxygen mask before you can help anyone else; here you have to find your own success before you can show your children how to be successful. The life skills that you will learn in this book will be easy to pass on to your children by example. Each chapter is a different skill, so you can read it a little at a time and take the time to implement that skill in your life before moving on to the next chapter. This book would be a wonderful gift for expectant parents, as many times new parents can quickly feel like failures when they feel the pressure from observing other parents and are bombarded by all that is thrown at them from society and their environment. I love the title of this book – our children are indeed watching and it is time we slowed down and showed them that success does not mean you have to do more and get more. When we learn the skills we need to be successful in our own lives, the next generation will naturally learn to follow. I received this book from BookFun.org in exchange for my honest review
Yes, I have been reading my own book! A woman I met at a talk I gave in Philadelphia for the American Montessori Society 16 years ago called me out of the blue and asked me to speak at her school here in Miami, The Alexandra Montessori School. That talk was 16 years ago! I know because my grandson Dylan, who is now 16 and driving, was born the day after!
Beverly wanted me to tell some of her favorite stories from the book. And so to warm up, I reread Our Children Are Watching and remembered experiences I had forgotten for years! The power of writing... is remembering! Wonderful!
That talk and that excited audience convinced me it was time to create a new edition of Our Children Are Watching... for Kindle. And it went up today!
Our Children are Watching is a phenomenon that a lot parents miss. Parents examples are how they will learn leadership, respect and succeed. The author has given and defined 10 skills to obtain success to the reader. Every one of us can develop the skills for success . Thanks to bookfun.com for this eBook. My opinion is my own?
