Terry is an ordinary girl living in an ordinary world. But a secret buried nine years ago is about to rear its ugly head.

Joined by her childhood friend Connor and her uncle Lyle, Terry must hunt down her old nemesis whilst coming to terms with what she left behind and more importantly, who and what she is.

Set between Terry's adoptive home in Edinburgh, Scotland, and the fictional world of Santerria where she and her friends hail from, Terry, Connor and Lyle must seek out old companions and unravel the mysterious reappearance of the long thought dead war criminal Edward.

They will be joined on their adventure by the races of the four elements; The Pyrovites (Fire), The Water Elementals, The Alchemists (Metal) and the Phantoms (Wind) and the Acara; the refugees of the stars.

Alchemist is an introduction to the The Four Corners of Santerria series, setting the scene for a much larger tale that will unfold across four novels.

I am a 26-year-old fantasy author who lives in Dumfries in south west Scotland.
I have published two books to date and my third, Crashing Down to Earth, is due for release in August.

When I am not writing I enjoy running. I have completed two half marathons for charity and will be doing a third one shortly. I also enjoy playing video games and painting. When I'm not doing any of that, I'm usually winding up my brothers, as I come from a very large family.

I also review indie books and interview independent authors on my blog once a week.

This was a decent Science Fiction book. It had all the right elements, unique idea for the story, not too long or too short. I enjoyed it, especially the story line.

However, there are a few cons. It would have been SO much more enjoyable with some serious editing [I believe the author is from the UK]. I wanted to grab it and do it myself, because I believe it was holding the book back. Not only spelling and grammar, but word usage and a couple of places where words were dropped or used improperly. It did not detract from me enjoying it, but I am afraid it would be quite distracting for some readers. Terry, I'll proof a PDF for you, for free!!! Really, it would have made it so much better. I would hope this could be edited and re-issued with some of the rough edges off and it would be an excellent book. With that said, kudos to the author.
