I used this for my tutoring sessions and had a great discussion about our planets and the solar system. Great reminders for those who know it already and wonderful illustrations and descriptions for those that are just learning. Great book!

Summary: This book describes the solar system. Each page presents facts about every planet and a real image. The planets are divided into categories and other important elements of the solar systems are described such as meteoroids.
I learned new information that I was not aware of. This non-fiction book is intended for a second grade classroom. The children can read it independently and as a read aloud.

Literature Term: What is more striking about this book is the genre. This informational book offers realistic facts in an interesting way. The illustrations help describe the information being presented. Planets are a fun topic to learn about. Science can take a new direction with fun books.
Response: It is hard to find books in Spanish about topics. This book is a perfect science book. I was hooked with the introduction in a form of question.

Activity: Using the vocabulary in the book, students can represent it in an art project. Students can recreate their favorite fact about the solar system present in the book.
