Dirt Road Washtenaw

Rate this book
Dirt Road Washtenaw is an adventure. It explores over 700 miles of dirt roads in this county. That’s nearly half of all the county’s roads. Most of them are unique, relatively quiet and often beautiful. This book shares 17 routes with detailed maps that cover the entire county and wander through every township.

These are great bike roads. They require modest bike handling skills, a topic covered thoroughly in one of the chapters. There is also a discussion about the history of road development, the effects of glaciation, and preparation for riding, among other things. And there are photos. Lots of photos.

Read this book, then take a ride. You’ll realize just what a wonder we have right out our back door.

This is a great guide - lots of valuable local knowledge. It also works well for planning routes for marathon training.
