About the author

For Long Island, New York’s Hempstead Living magazine, photojournalist and news reporter Ashley Ormon has spotlighted, among others, a local cellist who performed at the White House and local restaurateurs and their cuisine. She photographed the grand opening of The Academy, a charter school aiming to raise the academic performance of students in a district that has been one of New York State’s worst performing and subject of a state takeover.

At New York City’s Hunter College, where she is refining her journalistic skill and eyeing and eventual career in magazine journalism, Ormon co-founded In the Light. For that publication, which she also co-edits, she has written about the foster care system and children waiting and hoping to be adopted.

She has interviewed leaders of the Manhattan-based charity: water, a campaign to deliver clean drinking water to people in parts of the world without it; best-selling author of Legacy Living, Gloria Burgess; and Christian hip-hop artist HeeSun Lee, who has shared the stage with Grammy-nominated Canton Jones.

Also, Ormon was chosen as one of Jeff Goins, creator of goinswriter.com, which Writer’s Digest featured as one of the Top 20 websites for writers, favorite reviewer for his book You Are a Writer by Jeff Goins’. She also co-edited a poetry collection, Renovatum, an autobiographical book; and will have a segment of her teaching featured in Cambridge English Empower C1 Students Book, a college textbook slated for a December 2015 release by United Kingdom's Ivy League school Cambridge University.

Writing to encourage, advocate, and inspire others Ormon founded Proverbs & Wisdom, a charity-based organization. There she has mentored youth and adults, lead charity drives for St. Jude Childrens' Hospital, Letters for Troops campaign, Spreading Joy Corp., amongst several others where she continues to serve.

God in Your Morning is wonderful to start your day with by helping you draw closer to the Lord. Each message is informative and uplifting. I highly recommend this well-written, inspiring devotional. No matter where you are in your walk with Christ, you will be blessed by this book.
