I always knew there was something wrong with me healthwise, but trying to get a diagnosis or getting doctors to listen to me was becoming a nightmare. This is my own journey to diagnosis and treatment for Hyperparathyroidism and Hypothyroidism.

About the author

A survivor of sexual abuse, I have recently written the true account of my childhood, titled: Life After Hell: Surviving Sexual Abuse. I have tried to convey what happened to me as well as my journey to finally getting justice.

A lot of my real life experiences have gone into my fictional works - especially my first book The Man of My Dreams, where I created a vigilante vampire that kills rapists and child molesters.....

I've loved Vampires and the paranormal ever since I can remember and always envisaged myself writing a book or two on the subject! I have written 5 books in The Dream Series so far: The Man of my Dreams, Be Careful What You Wish For, The Chosen One, Succubus: An Erotic Companion and A Match Made in Hell. All Paranormal Romance novels with Vampires(of course) as well as a bit of blood and gore thrown in and the 4th one is slightly on the erotic side!

I also recently published a short story (Why Won't Someone Help Me?) about my health issues and the trouble with getting diagnosed or treated for invisible illnesses.

This is a very quick read about the author's struggle to find a doctor truly willing to help her. I can relate to the struggle, I went through three different doctors before finally taking my health into my own hands since they no longer wanted to help. My struggle lasted six years, within two weeks of doing things my way I felt alive and that I had the quality of my life back. This is something everyone should read, don't trust the people that just want your co-pay, I spent over $10,000 and got no where. You know your body better than anyone else. Just trust it!

It's amazing how many doctors think people just want some meds and aren't really sick. I commend Gladys for being so brave and pushing for what she knew she needed. I'm so sorry she had to go through it but it just gives us hope that if it happens to us we can push just like she did.
