When Geraldine's (Mickey to her friends) brother says he's too ill to do his paper round she volunteers because that means delivering to the house where delicious Darcy lives. However it also means delivering to Ms Horn whose dreadful little dog, Cupcake, is renowned for biting the paper boy. However, there's no sign of Cupcake and the next day she learns that Ms Horn has been found dead. But Mickey saw someone at the house when she delivered the paper. Who was it, and where is Cupcake?

Julia Owen was born in Auckland on Christmas Eve, 1960. She finished her primary education while her family was living in Rarotonga, before returning to Howick. In 1996 Julia took a six-month course called Te tuhi tuhi ma nga tamariki: writing for children in Mâori and English, at Rawene Polytech. Julia is the mother of four boys and currently lives in the Hokianga being a farmer and writer.

I read this book when I was younger and really loved it, now I'm older and reread it. I still absolutely love it.
