I wrote this book based on years of working with marines and sailors and their families in 29 Palms California. After listening to the families and finding out what works best for them, I compiled the information into this book.

As a marriage and family therapist (MFT), my priority is helping families to stay together and be happy! Over the last four years I have worked with many service members who suffered from extreme PTSD. I offer my best advice to family members as if you were in session talking to me.

Raising children and being married is incredibly hard for anyone, and being in the military has its challenges and advantages available to families. I discuss in the book details for service members and their spouses, parents of service members, children of service members, and service members who are parents.

I believe this book offers unique advice from the perspective of a professional MFT who has seen a lot of families, what works, and what doesn't. Other counselors will also find the stories, metaphors, and advice are helpful in normalizing and giving hope to military families.
