Let’s Get This Party Started is a guide to more than 15 parties you can throw for your kids that are inexpensive, wildly inventive, and fun. Each party includes two crafts, one game, and one recipe― all of which you can put together with your child. Author Soleil Moon Frye also offers countless tips and ideas that will inspire you. Among the thematic parties featured in the book are the fairy party, the pirate party, the movie-on-the-lawn party, the camp party, the ’80s party, the rainbow party, the Halloween party, the luau, and many more, captured in gorgeous and colorful images by Frye’s brother, photographer Meeno. Timely and fun, this book is a must-have for parents who love entertaining with their kids.

Punky Brewster aka Soleil Moon Frye brings you over 20 ideas for Celebrating all year long. From traditional Halloween, Independence Day and Valentine's Day, to Seasonal Changes (Spring and Summer) to themed parties (rainbows, pirates) to just because days (DIY Spa, Slumber Party, Movie Night), there is something to celebrate. Let Soleil guide you through these and many more fun, kid and parent approved parties. Each party includes decorations, a signature dish, some fun activities or crafts, and more.
The photos by Soleil's brother Meeno are in some ways just as worthy of note as the activities featured in each party.
The personal touch that Soleil brings with her stories as to why these particular themes (holidays aside) are featured. There's a Cha-Cha themed party that relays her family's Mexican vacation that created lasting memories.
Fun themed parties that you can create with materials around the house, rather than having to spend a million dollars (who knew celebs can be thrifty!). I could see some of them being adaptable for teens.
There are a lot of great party ideas. I love that there are so many photos--I don't tend to go back to ideas unless I can really see what the result looks like! I wish I had found this book BEFORE Liliana had her "Rainbow" party idea! Maybe we'll do a Rainbow Repeat in a few years!!!
