Norris seeks to demonstrate that the social location of Alfred North Whitehead and Charles Hartshorne has profoundly influenced their political ideology. Harshorne was a 20th century, privileged white American and a classic capitalist liberal, Whitehead a late Victorian modern liberal. Neither transcends their bourgeois culture, despite their philosophical interests. Process theology, as much as anything else, needs decolonizing.
