Story Behind the Book
In this series of specially focused books, the Wilkinsons take teaching to a new level by introducing a modern-day parable specific to each title; The Dream Giver for Parents, The Dream Giver for Couples, and The Dream Giver for Teens. Each chapter with teaching and application is matched to the parable so that we understand God’s desire for us to pursue the dream he gave us.

I read this 126 page book in a couple of hours. Very easy to understand. Liked the allegorical story used in the beginning of the book. Enjoyed the reminders to never take on the "giants" in marriage alone. They are to be faced together as a couple or if a couple isn't on the same page goal wise ( concerning having a dream marriage)they are to be faced giving over your cares to God. Ultimately moving to a better relationship as a couple has to include a better relationship with God for one or both of you. In the end the author encouraged always remembering a marriage can last a lifetime but a relationship with God can last for an eternity. Prioritize life in this order for lasting happiness!
This book proved to be very disappointing. It starts out very well with an entry that is so cleverly generic it can be read by anyone, of any religion or background, and apply to their married life. It gets a bit tongue-twisty at points with all the "Everyone"s and "Anyone"s that are literally incorporated into the story, but the final straw was misrepresentation of Ephesians. We can NOT simply twist the Word to say what we want it to say! Even if there was good intentions behind it, they changed that verse so greatly that both hubby and I said right then and there that was it and relegated the book to the bin.
This book blew me away. It is an awesome story and teaching about having a successful marriage. It was also such a simple writing without complicated language. I was blessed tremendously.
