Tired of living a life of manipulation and abuse, Shannon Yates trades in her mini-skirts, colored contacts, and twelve-inch weave for a Bible. Although she accepts the liberation found within its pages, walking in her newfound freedom proves easier said than done.
Just when the thing Shannon longs for the most is within reach, insecurities and old emotional wounds resurface, causing her to reject the blessing the Father has for her. Will love cast out all fear and liberate Shannon before it’s too late? Or will she settle for the familiar?

Shannon had the strength of a LION!!! Everything she endured and went through was a testimony on how she came out on top. It's sad that Valma as a mother couldn't protect her child and for your own selfish needs. I love the fact that Shannon had Juila to look up to and stir her in the right direction. Marcus was God sent and happy and grateful he gave Shannon the strength to love and trust her ability to believe she is worthy and deserving of someone's love in return. My first time reading this author book but I loved it.
By far this was Ms. Campbell's best book. Liberation is an emotional page turner, you will NOT want to put it down. In actuality, I was late for work one day as I stayed up to 2 a.m. trying to get to the end. Brilliant piece of literary work that will have you laughing with and at Shannon. But will also have you crying for and with Shannon. But in the end you will be rejoicing with Shannon. I loved this book and surely would recommend as a MUST READ!!!
We do not have the liberty to choose our family members, but Shannon Yates wish she did in Liberation by Wanda B. Campbell. Shannon has lived with the constant mistreatment from her family members. The family has convinced Shannon that she will never find love because of her dark skin. Shannon has given up until she meets Marcus, a musician that comes into the church where she works. Marcus stirs feelings in Shannon that she cannot explain and that scares her to death.
When Marcus meets Shannon, he is overwhelmed with her beauty and shy behavior. Marcus approach is aggressive and it sends Shannon running the other way. As Shannon starts to come around and the two start dating, Marcus notices changes in Shannon that has him concern. The emotional distress Shannon’s family has placed her is hindering her growth in her relationship with Marcus. Will Marcus continue to be patient? Or will Shannon let her past issues rule her future?
Liberation is a story of love, blessings and faith. The author does a wonderful job sharing the development of the relationship between Marcus and Shannon. I believe readers will be able to relate to the emotions the main character experiences and the feelings of being unwanted. God has chosen a mate for every one and this proves true in Liberation. I recommend Liberation to others.

I had to read this a 2nd time not only because it's good but because I had to learn how to love & appreciate Shannon all over! I absolutely loved this story. Let God know the desires of your heart, be sincere about and He will give it and more.
As always the Simones family is like none other; rich Spiritually and Materially... They put God first, family and other, however don't get it twisted they will not let you use or run over them.
Marcus Simone the eldest grandson has done everything at a young age in a fairly deceit order and out of nowhere God shows him his Soul Mate when he least exspect it and he treats her like his Queen from day one. Shannon Yates, has been used, abused and torn apart, but one day her eyes are opened & she decides she doesn't want to live or treat people the same way her family did her. She makes a drastic change between God, her new found family, new job, & new school what more could a girl ask for. Well God created us to have a soul mate and in walks her King, but will she able to accept him after always being told she was not good Enough?!
can't wait to tackle a few more wanda campbell titles. I mean this was an AWESOME read!
I've had this book on my kindle for 3 months. and just didn't reAd it. it kept getting put off to the side for other books. So after having read 20+ kindle books, I finally decided to read this and I must say I'm sorry I waited so long. This is probably the best thing I've read so far.
I Never read a book twice. Ever. I revisited this book after reading it a few years ago because I just needed to read a really good book and again I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love how the author blends faith, love and redemption into her storytelling. I would love to read more about some of the characters in this story (maybe Chris’ story or Carey’s story). I’m buying any book this author writes because it’s guaranteed to entertain.
Loved this story!!! This is a MUST READ❤. I would have given it 5 stars but, it had quite a few grammatical errors. Wanda B. Campbell is an amazing author. My heart just leaped for joy for Shannon & Marcus!!! I look for more exciting & inspirational stories in the very near future by Wanda B. Campbell!!
