REVIEW
I have read all of Tony Leather's work in the past and I know him through the social network of writers, as I 'know' many people. When he told me that he had written a full length piece of work (thanks to his wife's encouragement) I was pleased and couldn't wait to read it. I loved Tony's short stories and he has shown himself to be a capable writer with a great scope of ideas.
The Plot as a title first of all, is genius. Plot of the story, plots on the allotment, plots of intrigue and deception, take your pick!
This story is basically about the fight to save an allotment by Molly, whose dear uncle died and left his plot to her, and a rag tag bunch of other keen greenfingers. They are trying to save their land from a particularly nasty developer, and the plot deepens and twists as it zips along to a great conclusion, with a few dollops of simmering romance along the way.
I really enjoyed the book and can't find a fault with it, it is edited and formatted well, I love the dark cover, which fits well with the story of the book, and I was intrigued all the way through on the deception and romantic relationship that was developing. I love it when you, the reader, can see a couple are fighting their feelings before the characters do. This is the sign of a great read.
This was a fine book, about Molly who has been left a plot of land in an Allotment in her Uncle’s will. Then the story then follows Molly’s and her fellow allotment holders attempts to save the allotment from ruthless developers. The story has elements of romance in it too, and zips along nicely and provoked in me strong emotions about people’s rights. I was a little disappointed that the novel was short, as I wanted to read more. Overall a very enjoyable read. Would love to read more by this author.
