Easentially written as a “how to” on serving title companies and lenders. Notaries should be independent public servants that serve the interests of the public. A notary should in no way represent or be an agent of a lender or title company. Notaries are impartial civil servants.

Fees are to be collected up front and never invoiced, otherwise, the notary will feel obligated to complete the signing even if there are red flags as the notary will fear the payment will be withheld.
