Injuries have always been a concern especially in sports, but this book covers how to prevent sports injuries. The sports medicine profession has responded to the rise in injuries by placing greater emphasis on injury prevention, developing new diagnostic and treatment techniques, and promoting rehabilitation as an aid to full recovery. The book also talks about how people need proper equipment, and appropriate apparel depending on the sport. One thing athletes need to focus on is flexibility, most of the time athletes just try to get strong and forget to focus on flexibility. This book emphasises that athletes get stronger without sacrificing flexibility. When athletes do get hurt it is necessary that they self diagnose and treat themselves, but the athletes then need to get checked by a professional to get a better treatment and diagnosis. Then the book goes over almost every sports injury imaginable such as shoulder, elbow, back, knee, and ankle injuries. As it goes over the injuries it discusses how to treat and prevent said injury. This book wasn't a bad book, it was pretty informational, but it was not what I was looking for. This book may appeal to others if they are looking for a book on sports injury prevention and treatment.
