How To Live With Life

Rate this book
The Challenge Of Existence
Every human being on this earth faces a constant problem: how to make the most of life. There is no simple solution; the art of living is the most difficult of all the arts. But, fortunately for all of us, experience can be shared. Insights can be learned. Wisdom can be taught. In this book are presented the experience, insights and wisdom of men and women who have lived deeply, thought profoundly and cared enormously about sharing with others what they have learned. Statesmen and scientists, businessmen and psychiatrists - each has found some fragment of truth that cushions the harsh impact of reality or brightens the marvelous tapestry of living. Here, then, are their answers to the most fundamental of all questions: how to live with life.

I found my worn out copy of this book tucked at the back of a bookcase in a second hand store. Flicking through it I found it had several flowers pressed within its yellowed pages and felt I had to have this fragment of someones life.
I'm so glad I picked it up, because it's a truly enlightening read, and there are sweet notes written in pencil throughout it.
This book speaks on all topics from helping others to helping yourself, the importance of failure, nervous breakdowns, love, creativity, and marriage. A delightful read.

Composing a book about life is a tall order, even in 500+ pages. However this book encompasses it well. Full of practical wisdom, with writings from Winston Churchill and Albert Einstein, to Norman Peale and Arthur Gordon, to Helen Keller and somebody’s Mom, there is something for every season. I had to read it slower than I wanted to, just to be able to digest it all. Some of the contributors sum up a lifetime of learning into only a few pages. If you consider yourself a student of life, you will probably love this book

Dry but contextual. Perhaps it was of the time. The rethoric is distintively white-collar, but of an honest man, he must have had a tough life resigning to a life of whiskey and cigarettes. Dry, yes! But a good read non-the-less.

Its one of those books where the moment you start reading it, you realize that if I had read it earlier my life would have been much easier. In every chapter, there is a great message about life. this book emphasizes on perks of being a social person. This book can be a Bible for a person who is socially inferior and consequently faces depression. I highly recommend this book, it is a life-changer for me.

Found this book on a pile of trash and i never regretted keeping it. Every page gives you lesson in life and gives you more views to life. After reading this book, I've gained wisdom about how life is for us humans and that each individual has their different perspective and all we have to is respect each others point of view. Every human is faced with different struggles in life but one thing is to be treasured...be optimistic as long as you live.

Started reading this book and couldn't get enough of it. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it due to the fact that I misplaced it somehow moving between workplaces and never found it again. After 20 years I see amazon has one copy available but does not deliver to my country. I sure wish I could finish this book before the end of my life on earth. 😢
