A deadly game of intrigue sweeps Gabrielle into a battle she has little hope of winning, even with her bond fairy helping. The last thing she expected was to fall in love . . . with the enemy!

It doesn’t take long before Gabby is drawn into a deadly game of intrigue that started over a thousand years before. The stakes are high and the timing abysmal, but she finds herself falling in love in spite of herself. Can she and her full blood lover make a life for themselves? Ann Gimpel simply never disappoints with her books. Warin's War captivates right from the beginning. A witch and her bond fairy meet a full blood Warg (a full-blooded magic wielding wolf) and the sparks fly. They go against everything they have been taught have been ordered by their sides to save the earth. Ms. Gimpel has a way of creating mythical creatures and worlds that are intriguing and believable. She is truly a master at her craft! This is a quick read and I hope she does a second book for the characters.

Today's review is on Gabrielle's Cauldron by Ann Gimpel

After reading Gimpel's Psyche's series, it's interesting to see the erotic side of her writing. I know that her ability to write mystery and romance was solid, but I love when an author is able to branch out into other genre's.

Thought I really enjoyed Gabrielle's Cauldron, I did feel that it was a bit rushed. With that said though, that is how novella's are. They are short, intense, and quick. All of the things that GC is.

Gabrielle McCallaghan, a hybrid Witch who now has no job to go along with no sex life. But when the handsome Warg enters her life everything changes. Not only does she find love, she finds truth.

Good novella's are the ones that make you wish that there was more. They leave you wanting the author to continue on with the story to create a good 300+ page book, and Gimpel has done this. I want more! I want to know how the "battle" goes. I want to know if there is a baby in the future.

A good pick-me-up read.

Gabrielle McCallaghan knows she isn't cut out for spreadsheets and files or for office work in general. She always manages to make a mess of things, and finds her mind drifting off to her coven and magical studies. Her bond fairy is no help either, seeming to deliberately distract Gabrielle from her day-to-day duties at her uncle's accounting firm. Finally, to save him the trouble of having to awkwardly fire her, Gabrielle quits the mundane job, and realizes she's never felt freer.

Just when she tries to decide what to do with her newfound freedom, she is caught in another situation, though this one is far from mundane. Powerful, overconfident, and extremely attractive magician Warin spots her and senses her timid magical abilities, and though her bond fairy tries to warn her against his dark magic, Gabrielle can't help but be drawn into his schemes.

Ann Gimpel's novella Gabrielle's Cauldron is a fun, quick read, with no lack of exciting sexual tension, but also a great magical story in a contemporary setting.

Gabrielle's Cauldron is a highly entertaining PRN romance. I don't want to give the story away, but the ending was packed with excitement and had me turning pages well into the night to see what happened. My personal favorite was Gaby's bond fairy, a petite spitfire that amused me to no end. (She's a frisky little sprite, let me tell you!)

The heroine was likeable and realistic. The hero sexy and...need I say...a wolfie? The history between the full bloods and fairies was intriguing and well thought out.

If you're looking for a sexy read with shifters, fairies, and witches..Ann's Gabrielle's Cauldron is for you!

Learning The Truth

This is a fun quick read about a witch, fairy and warq. Each of them learned that they had been lied to about the other species so they would never come together to help each other. Enjoy I did.

This is a short story of Faires, Witches and Wolves and it has a Fabulous pace and a Great flow ! I'm in love with all the magical characters. This is now one of my all time favorites and what a story! I couldn't stop reading once I started it, it's that SPECTACULAR! This book is well-written and a perfect example of entertainment at its best! There is kidnapping, romance, suspense and mystery it's got it all. There isn't enough words for me to describe how enjoyable I found this storyline. It will have you on the edge of your seat with excitement as you keep you turning the pages until the end. The scenes are so very vivid with details that pulls you the reader right into the story. The characters are well developed and the dialogue is fantastic and entertaining! OMG! Gabrielle McCallaghan was born the only a hybrid witch in her family. When she turned thirteen a bond fairy Amalia came into her life. No one but Gabrielle can see or hear Amalia, but because of this Gabrielle hasn't given Amelia the respect she should until she meets Warin's and this is brought to her attention. Gabrielle is bored with working with uncle who is CPA, so she quits but she has to find something fast because her family can't afford for her to move back home. Then she meets Warin and his magic has a strange sexual effect on her.

Warin is a powerful full blood wolf shapeshifter which is called a warg. Warin has sexual charge that both Gabrielle and Amalia find hard to resist. Warin's is looking for coven because he would like to end the war before they kill their planet. But the Coven and the full bloods with the fairies in the middle. But Warin will need the help of both sides. Amalia comes up with a plan that Warin and Gabrielle agrees may help. Warin's War Ann Gimpel

Reviewed by SFF Dragon

Funny, action packed and steamy, not everything is what it seems in this terrific PNR, but love wins in the end.

I love Ann Gimpel's books, she's one of my favourite authors and Warin's War is another terrific stand alone paranormal romance from her pen that I originally read a couple of months ago when it was part of a boxed set. I absolutely loved it and keep hoping it'll become the first book in a series.

In a world where Earth is dying because of a thousand year old war between three races who are supposed to balance each other and together feed energy to the planet, but the reasons for their existence are mostly lost to two of them in their drive for power. All magic users, the full-bloods are shapeshifters of all kinds from wolves to griffons, the hybrids, known collectively as the Coven, are human witches given the choice at puberty to have magic or not, and the fairies, the only ones who, as a race, truly remember why they're all here, and have been imprisoned by the hybrids for their own purposes for centuries, but are now about to break out and be free once more.

The only one trying to put things right before it's too late is the full-blood warg, Warin von Bethel. He's in Seattle to try to get the Coven to see reality, but he spots hybrid Gabrielle and her bond fairy, Amalia first and goes after them. He knows they're true mates, meant to be together forever and suddenly getting back the status quo becomes a lot more personal for these two lovers, especially when Gabrielle is kidnapped....

Sad, funny and filled with terrific characters, fights and steamy bits, there is a happily ever after for Warin and Gabby, but the background story is left hanging with open threads for potential future books and I'd really love to read them. Please.

gabrielle is tired of her job, her mind constantly wandering where it shouldn't be. enough is enough and she decides to quit. numbers simply aren't her thing, magic is. she's one of few that decided magic was the way to go and was linked with a fearie.
on her way home she feels a strange pull. when she sees from who the pull is coming she panics. the arch enemy of their kind is watching her, following her. she has every reason to be afraid because when either of the species meet one ends up dead!
but this one is different, the pull is different and he isn't attacking her at all. even better when others pick up on them he drags her with him and rescues them both. confused at what is going on and why she has to make the choice to trust him or to escape.
warin is tired of the endless battle, the earth is dying and something needs to be done. the balance needs to be restored but getting all parties to understand, well that's the hard part. when he runs into gabrielle he see what could happen if they bundle their resources. what isn't a bad thing is that gabrielles familiar fearie can help him get in contact with the other fearies to hear his plead.
as time goes on and they twarth danger after danger most starts to grow between them and when they join their powers it's clear what kind of path they all should be walking but it's convincing all others of it's importance that's going to be the hard part!

this was just a wonderful story, i'm secretly hoping this is not a standalone story in this world. there is so much potential for more pairings, more intrigue and trouble!! i had this on my to read pile for a while now, thinking, i have to read this, but something always came up but once i started reading : i couldn't put it down, it just had to keep on reading till the end! another masterpiece ann gimpel!

Gabrielle McCallaghan, a hybrid witch and her fairy, Amalia, live in a world where full blood magic wielders and hybrids are at war and have been for a thousand years. It is forbidden for either side to mingle with the other. As a result of the magic war, the Earth is dying.

Warin is a very powerful full blood warg (shapeshifter) and has a plan to end the war, but it requires the cooperation of both sides. Warin finds Gabrielle and Amalia to help with his plan. I really don’t want to give too much away, but I will tell you how very much I enjoyed the entire book. Warin oozed sexuality without even trying and had both Gabrielle and Amalia agreeing to things before they realized it. I also liked when Gabrielle spoke out loud to Amalia in public and no one else could see or hear Amalia, making Gabrielle look crazy. The magic was great, the fairies entertaining (especially Amalia) and the sex outstanding. Warin is so steamy in his looks, his speech and just his whole being. I could definitely keep him. It will be a long time before I find another book boyfriend that could stand up to Warin. Don’t miss this fabulous book.

Different is what I hope to come across in reading so with this one I struck gold. You get hybrids, fairies and full bloods written in its own way by the talent of this author to give us the ability to journey to different realm. Gabrielle is the hybrid but working for her uncle just wasn't working all along she also had her bond fairy. She would have her hands full I would say if she tried working but also let know one know she was with her. She does while out that Waring scents her plus other things and this full blood must have her. Get with them as they do get together learning about each other but also it does not put the war on hold they must come together for their next step in it. Together also they can do so much more than apart plus they are very sensual together. Very exciting though on how what is come up with and when a event that causes him to spring to action on the edge action but with favorable outcome I would say. It also will bring out how they truly feel about each other. This does move quickly so you reach the end in no time.

I recieved this in an exchange for an honest review.

This is a novella and not a full length novel. i am a HUGE HUGE fan of Ann Gimpel's books although i only started reading her work recently.
From the first page, aas always, its a compelling read. Nothing better than a mysterious stranger from the word go
You can always guarentee with her books that the non-humans are always so unique and original. Its like she looks at legends and mythological beasts and just makes them her own and imo that makes them even better.
I loved every part of this book and could not stop reading it until it was finished but i didnt want it to finish so i would love to read a sequel to this and into their world of magical beings.
I loved the aspects of without woking together the magic is fractured and only made stronger by all three factions working together and also knowing how hard it would be to accomplish it. Also the fact that two people from opposite sides fall in love and have a need tto be together.

An amazimg book and everyone should read this!!!!! I will recommend it to everyone!!!!!

A hot and steamy tale with plenty of danger and action.

In the midst of the thousand year war between the hybrids and purebloods, Gabby, a hybrid witch, and her bonded fairy, Amalia are pursued by a warg werewolf, Warin. The sexual tension between the two is immediate, something a pureblood is more than capable of enhancing and Warin has no compunction in using any advantage he can. The three quickly become the pursued. If there is one rule both sides have it’s no fraternizing with the enemy. Danger is imminent and the three have quite the challenge if they are ever to succeed in reuniting the races… for there is one thing the others don’t get. The separation of their magics is killing the earth and it’s only through unification that they will restore the balance. Warin's War was a delightful read.

This was a very good book I could not put it down . There is a thousand year war between hybrids and full bloods, and one man is hoping to stop it. Warin has come to Seattle looking to end the war, he sees Gabrielle a hybrid witch with her bond Fairy Amalia on her shoulder walking down the street on their way home. Warin gets them to go for coffee, but trouble has followed them the penalty is death if they are found together, Warin teleports them to Bavaria . Trouble has still followed them, what happens? There is a reason the war started and Amalia’s people where the reason what was it? Will Warin get his wish ? Will Warin and Gabrielle get a happy ending? Gabrielle is a hybrid witch with a bond fairy, Amalia. Gabrielle quits her job and is trying to figure out her options when she spots Warin. Aware that his magic is much stronger than hers she tries to flee as their kinds have been at war for a long time.
Warin is disgusted with the whole war and looking to find a way to end it peacefully. Thinking that maybe if he can convince Gabrielle the war is not needed, he can convince others he convinces her to get coffee.
These three have as much spark and trouble as you can imagine. Can they find their way to peace maybe even love or will the long running war destroy them all? I don't wanna give anything away, but this was an amazing story!!

Loved the heroine of this story; she starts out understated and unhappy with her life. Fortunately she meets a stranger that changes her life. They are both immediately physically drawn to each other. They are also of different races whose people are involved in a thousand year war that is now damaging the earth. With their strong connection to each other they will try to bring the different races together to save not only the other races, but humankind and the earth as well. See what they each must go through to accomplish this task, and how their love and passion for each other will give them the power to help all. Author Ann Gimpel has done it again, mixing fairy tales with hot romance, danger and adventure.

Warin & Gabby's story is a maze of discovery, amazing details woven into an intricate love story. I was I intrigued from the beginning by the characters which sprang from the pages to life. Each page dragged me farther into an amazing tale of love, discovery & so much more. Ann's ability to write in such a way that you become invested in the characters is an amazing talent. I never wanted the story to end, yet I looked forward to the next page. I would love to read more on these two characters. Did they have children? How did the war go? So many possibilities.

Gabrielle a 1/2 blood witch just couldn’t deal with numbers and that was the job her uncle gave her. So when she could take no more she quite. Walking out of the office and down the street with her little fairy friend until they saw a hunk of a male. He was a full blood warg by the name of Warin.
One thing lead to another and now Warin has to keep her safe, there is so much to this story about a war that is between 1/2 breeds and full breeds and fairys.
I love the mystery, drama, and spice! The characters are fantastic too so much fun. I hope there is more to come from this story like a series!

Ann can spin a world of wonder and suspense, she simply paints with words.

Gabby and her bond fairy, are stalked by this extremely handsome Warg (a full blood magic welding wolf) Gabby has been taught to stay well clear of such creatures, but Warin simply will not take no for an answer. They've been caught together and Warin saves her by transporting them to his home. He transforms in front of her, which is a strict no no.. 2 things can happen kill her or marriage. He has never felt this a way before, is it possible to find his mate? with the war brewing and the earth dieing. cannot they find time to love?

Captivating and addictive! I could not put it down. Warin is a full blood magic wielder and a wolf shifter. Gabrielle is a half blood witch. When they meet sparks fly in more than one way. Half bloods and full bloods have been at war for centuries. Warin is trying to find a way to stop it and wants Gabrielle's help. Can they get past thier own reservations and start to find a way to end the war?. The Acton, suspense, and romance will have you hooked.

I was given this e-book by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. My conclusions are my own. I was not compensated in any way.
