As with the whole series, there are of course golden nuggets scattered among the pages, but on the whole, it’s not worth it. The Introduction tells you about all you need to know, suggesting that it’s “probably too full of the last several generations,” which is (unfortunately) true, that the reader ought to beware that there aren’t enough female authors and there’s too much from the “European tradition,” and finally that “noninclusive language” has been changed wherever possible. Well, that’s enough to tell you the mindset of the editor.
