About the author

Kevin lives in Farmington, NM with his wife of 36 years and their Yorkshire Terrier, T. Bone Dickens – both find their way into the pages of his books. He is 58 years old and was diagnosed in 2009 with Parkinson’s disease, although he lived with it for years prior. He is an ordained Baptist pastor and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in theology. He served as a pastor of a Baptist church in North Idaho for ten years.

After losing his job, he found himself unable to continue his hobby of fixing and repainting cars. He turned to writing. He always enjoyed creative writing, but rarely did it. He found that he felt physically better when he wrote creatively. He describes it as fun. He began writing his memoirs and submitted stories to magazines. He found others liked them and published them. He has won six awards at Humorpress.com and one at the Storyteller. He finds writing therapeutic and it fits into an unpredictable schedule – he writes what he can, when he can.

He currently has three books, “I Forgot That I Remembered,” a humorous look at his life with Parkinson’s disease, ”Just Me: Humorous, Helpful and Odd” which consists of stories from throughout his life and his gospel ventriloquism book, “I Know What You Know, Adventures in Gospel Ventriloquism” featuring Youtube links to the scripts in the book. Since he is continuing to write, stand by for future books.

To be honest with you, I really didn’t know where to start and stop with the compliments I felt for your book. I loved the short story format. Your phraseology, your inventive vocabulary, your admirable attitude, your hilarious humor, your spiritual and loving strength and courage, and that’s not to mention the very personal invitation into your private day-to-day life, and struggles. Again, honestly, I cannot remember ever having so many constantly conflicting and compelling emotions (from the core of my being) while reading one book, and from so many different approaches/angles. It may only be 150 pgs, but those pages ‘SAID MORE’ and were the MOST POWERFUL I have ever read. Yes, really! - annonymous

My mom bought me this book shortly after I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. I was not quite ready to talk about or read about Parkinson's so she read the book first. I was laying in bed feeling sorry for myself, and all I heard was my mom laughing from the living room. I got mad at her for laughing about my illness so I snatched the book from my moms hands and read it for myself. It was one of those books where you keep telling yourself one more chapter than bedtime. I read the whole book that night, and tried to muffle my laughter so my mom did not hear. Guess who had to eat humble pie that night? Well written book of humorous stories that I will definitely read again!
