I was surprised that this book actually kept my interest since it's an old book that's basically about a man cross-breeding wheat. That's it. It claims also to be a "love story" but it certainly doesn't hold up to any love stories I've read, even the ones of it's own time. I gave it 3 stars because the author managed to take a pretty boring topic and make it somewhat interesting even if the plot was slow.
