A STEAMY, OFFICE SPACE INSPIRED FRIENDS-TO-LOVERS WORKPLACE ROMANTIC DARK COMEDY BETWEEN IVY FLORES: A HOPELESS ROMANTIC FLOOR ASSEMBLY WORKER & IAN WATANABE: A F*CK AROUND AND FIND OUT ENGINEER WITH CEREBRAL PALSY.
----------------------------- Ivy Flores is having a hard time.
Her mother’s passing caused her father’s permanent relocation back to Michoacán, she’s stuck in a dead end job that somehow keeps getting worse, and her sister Pearl (AKA her chismosa in crime) barely lets her out of her sight since Ivy’s…attempt.
Well. Pearl and Ian Watanabe.
The engineer with the dumbest sense of humor she can’t get enough, patience to listen to her endless info dumps, and a heart that brings color to their dull, dreary factory workplace.
Its no surprise he’s her best friend…and love of her life.
When news of a promotion in the highly sought after front office makes its rounds around the production floor, no one’s more surprised to than Ivy to find out she’s lead contender for the position.
The catch? Not letting herself burn to the ground before then.
This book is intended for mature audiences and not intended to be a light romcom.
TW: Death of parent (on page and mentioned through out), suicide attempt (mentioned throughout), issues involving immigration and citizenship laws, abelism, racism, assault (non-sexual), symptoms of mental illness (paranoia, mania, self destructive behaviors, etc), toxic workplace/coworkers, sexual harassment,
4.5 stars. I loved Ian and Ivy's relationship but wish we had gotten a little more of their friendship before they dove into dating. They were super hot together, though, so I didn't mind that much.
Definitely read the content warnings. Ivy is going through it
