The Christmas Gift Of Aloha
Merry, a newly trained Christmas Elf, falls from Santa's sleigh and finds himself in Hawai'i. He is dismayed that there is no snow, reindeer, or other signs of Christmas in this strange land. With the help of Mele the Menehune, Merry soon discovers the wonders of a Hawaiian Christmas. To Merry's surprise, the menehune children give him the best gift of all. Lisa Matsumoto's story and Michael Furuya's illustrations create a delightful and heart warming holiday story capturing the true meaning of Christmas while celebrating Hawai'i's spirit of Aloha.

Cute Hawaiian themed story. One of Santa's elves, Merry, is very mischievous and accidentally ends up in Hawaii.

In our best effort to get in the spirit of a Hawaiian Christmas, I picked up this BEAUTIFULLY illustrated book. We read it as a family last night and despite getting a little teary-eyed thinking of the snowy Christmas I won't be having this year, I loved the story! It really was a sweet representation of the "spirit of Aloha".

A little long about a fast elf. Might be enjoyed more when the kids are older. Didn't think it was anything particularly amazing.
