Praise For Miranda Parker

"A surprise around every corner. . ..The combination of juicy mystery and the drama of a mega-church is an unbeatable one that makes this novel a real page-turner." -- RT Book Reviews on A Good Excuse to Be Bad
Miranda Parker is the author of the Angel Crawford Bounty Hunter Series. After graduating from college, she began working as a features editor for various magazines and spent many years as a publicist for national recording artists, actors, ministers, and authors. However, writing fun, fiesty, redemptive bad girl gone good stories was her passion. She resided with her family in Georgia near a horse ranch and her daughter's Girl Scout Troop. On a perfect day, she used to be found curled up with a good book or in a movie theater with a bucket of popcorn. Unfortunately, she passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012. She battled a rare heart disorder, gracefully to the end. She was an active supporter of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement to raise awareness about women's heart health.
Angel Crawford is getting married! Justus Morgan, her pastor, asked and she said yes. She’s not certain if she’s experiencing feelings for Maxim West, the U.S. Marshall who is also her PI instructor, or if she’s still pondering whether or not her baby daddy/fiancé’ Gabriel Hwang is still amongst the living. Either way, Angel is already carrying a load as she’s burying relatives, mending fences, planning a wedding, and chasing bad guys. Can she really handle anything else?
CAN’T KEEP A BAD BRIDE DOWN is the third book in the Angel Crawford series. Unfortunately for readers, as well as the literary world, Miranda Parker passed away, so a lot of unanswered questions will be just that, unanswered. While I’m a FAN of the series, I was a little disappointed in this book. As always, Parker’s descriptions of Georgia are on point. You feel as if Georgia is actually a character. This book, however, felt incomplete. I don’t know if this book was actually completed prior to her passing, but the story is jumbled with parts of the story that just make no sense.
I would like to thank Miranda Parker for creating such an exciting and original African American character, and I pray that she is resting in peace.
Unfortunately, I had to report to Libby that the audiobook was really messed up—repeated significant technical problems. Therefore, Libby withdrew the audiobook and I couldn’t finish listening.
I understand that the author, Davida Stewart, passed away while writing this book, so I reckon someone else must have completed writing it.
God bless the author, her family, and her loved ones. May she rest in peace.
I love Ms. Parker's writing style. Character development is excellent. Bail bond business is reminiscent of Valerie Wilson Wesley novels.
As I finished the novel, the main character Angel, is still not married. Her fiance, Pastor Justus, has been waiting patiently. The father of her baby has risen from the dead. The detective that she kissed is laid out after having been shot. I am confused.
Great follow up in the Angel Crawford series, this book picks up exactly where book two left off with Angel and her complex love life. I love murder mysteries and action packed stories and this book definitely did not disappoint. I am a fan for life.
Was waiting expectantly for the continuation of Angel and Justus' journey towards the altar of marriage. But everything was up in the air most of the book with Max in the picture. Didn't like how it ended.
