Starting Turkish

Focusing on day-to-day language needs, this introductory course designed for adults and young-adult learners covers the practical language required for such situations as meeting people and socializing, getting around, making arrangements, and getting help and information. Unlike a typical textbook, this guide uses a fresh and modern approach to language learning, presenting language in contemporary, useful dialogues with key grammar points explained and illustrated. An accompanying audio CD featuring lively music and dialogue allows learners to listen to and practice Turkish, helping them with pronunciation, comprehension, and allowing for use in the classroom or for self-study.

I can see how this could be an interesting supplement to a class. However, on its own, it is not useful. The dialogues are complex, and you have to figure a lot out by context, which is hard when the pictures are just two people talking to each other.

I'm not sure whom this is aimed at. It is assumed that you don't know how to say "hello," but are already familiar with Turkish grammar.
