Book IV in The Series takes Ren from confusion to clarity as she reevaluates her priorities and discovers there is only one person she can truely trust.

The Rennillia Series: The story begins with Rennillia escaping an abusive relationship. Finding refuge with old friends, she tries to put her past behind her, only to find it impossible. Once her reason for leaving is revealed they are thrust into a chain of events where secrets are kept, revealed, and unknown.

This is the second novel in this amazing series. This one starts where book one left off where Ren takes on the role of 'the right wife' trying to live up to everything she feels is expected of her. This novel is extremely masterly written and developed with no plot-holes. The character's are complex with real emotions and flaws. The pace of the novel is perfect as many layers of secrets are revealed in a timely manner. This book is very intriguing & suspenceful. I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series. I highly recommend reading this series as you will not be disappointed. I was given a free copy in exchange for a honest review.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ren is trying very hard to be the perfect wife to Hert. She comes to realize his position is important to him and maybe being the supportive wife will make him happy. Much is expected from her in the social scene as she tries to fit in a crowd that she completely does not connect with, and she is having more trouble connecting with her husband who is rarely home. She decides this will be her life and she will support him.

Her friendship with Emerson hits a big snag when he makes a pass at her. Infuriated by this, she makes him move out of the house. Without Hert ever being home, she feels that it is not appropriate for Em to be there with her any longer. Emerson runs off and this creates a problem for Hert. Him and the company lawyer leave to find him leaving Ren alone once more. But Hert has asked Jackson to stay at the house while he is gone due to Ren’s ex, and in case Emerson should come back to the house.

Ren and Jackson are very comfortable with one another and she finds her life peaceful without worrying about all the secrets that surround her life and marriage with Hert. It is discovered that Hert will not be home for the social ball of the season, and Hert recommends that Jacks take Ren. The two have fun planning for this event, but she wants her marriage to work, and she looks forward to Hert’s calls and hopes to be able to see him on their one year anniversary.

Hert does make arrangements for Ren to meet him at a hotel the evening of their anniversary hoping to rekindle her husband’s desires for her and their marriage enough for him to want to come home. Unfortunately Hert cannot say the words to Ren that she longs to hear, and he hasn’t been able to for a while. He makes it clear what he wants from Ren.

I’m anxious to see what Ren will do next. Ren knows secrets on Emerson and is actually trying to protect him at this point. Jackson has feelings for Ren, but trying to remain the respectful friend. And there is the question about the tattoo that he is very secretive about. Will Hert fight for Ren, or does it matter anymore?

Another well written book by Sembera.

Thought I'd read this book first because I checked it out and not one person made a review yet. So, I'll try writing one. I have no idea what to say but I am going to let whatever words come to mind and write it.

4 stars!! Loved the book not much action but still I liked reading it. I never read a book that's like this. The characters, the story line and all that. I am still stuck reading ya books and all that lol. This one seems more "adult" but still I liked it. To be honest I haven't even read the first books and this is the third one I think. I would like to read those first books because I always found myself wondering what happened before book 3. But now I am curious to know what happens in book 4 too.

Oh, how I wish they would get back together in book 4 or if there's a mystery to it all. It seems like there's something wrong like all the time but Renni has no idea what it could be. Like she asks him questions, notices that he looks very well dressed, meaning "extra nice", and all that. But he always says everything went great. Like simple answers but I think what she wants is a good talk from her husband like him talking about how his day was or telling her more details about his job. Anything to make her feel normal at least. Maybe it's just me but that's what I think.

A Simple Truth is very intriguing story. At the beginning of this book, Renilla's (Ren) is dealing with the separation of her marriage. She is trying to cope with it until her husband Hert got into a car accident. Her best friend Jackson came with the news of her husband. On her husband's instruction, Jackson stayed with her.

Since I haven't read the first three books, Ren's story sounds like she lives in a mafia environment. The HIM/HE is a mystery. The readers will only know that HIM is Mr. Salvador's nephew. Of course, Ren's life just gets more complicated as she learned the real reason that her husband Hert married her. There was a question of who is Sophie's father. The readers will get some indication that she belongs to HIM. Now Hert and Jackson have to protect Ren and Sophie except Ren now want to handle the situation.

My recommendation is to read the first three books which I will do to catch up with what has transpired leading to A Simple Truth. As Jackson said Ren has no boundary or even acknowledge another person's personal spaces. It makes me wondered that this is probably the reason why she gets into these situation.

I had no choice! I could not stop to even write my reviews until I was finished reading each of the booms in this series! I was surviving on 3 and 4 hours of sleep and working 10 hour days due to the fact I was so into the stories and lives of all the characters...Rennillia, Hert, Jackson ,and Emerson. Then the stories continue on in The Marked Heart Series, and I was truly in deep...lol
The Rennillia stories are all well written and follow the lives of the main characters from their teens through adult years. Each story is a continuation of the one before. The books are long fulfilling reads, not the normal short series books, so be ready to take time out for each book. The only other thing I can say...read them...and do it in the proper order...lol

I think this was my favorite one so far. I believe this one had more meat on the bone, or I finally felt like I knew the characters enough to care more...? I gave 3 stars to each of these but seeing as I've read them all as 1, I would add an extra for the whole of them.

This book was amazing. Rennillia tries to be the perfect wife for Hurt. But not everything is perfect. This book has some much mystery. I was hooked, I had to keep reading to solve all the mysteries. This is definitely 5 star read.

This was a great book. There was so much emotion poured into the pages. It had me, as the reader, on an emotional rollercoaster as well. I couldn't tear myself away from it.

A tragic romance with hope

Ren and Hert are still working through their pasts and present. At times it seems they may not have a future together.

im so confused by this series. I'm not joking. i cant wait to read the last book and everything become clear because I'm as lost as poor Renillia right now and I'm sure to one single person ever tells her the truth. I'm deeply invested in this story it kind of pulls you in and sweeps you along with it. Renillia is trying so hard to be the perfect “stepford” wife to hert, she goes against her own personality to be the wife he wants and needs but how much longer can she go on pretending to be something she is not ? once again mary has written a great story and i adore her writing. she writes books you can feel yourself slipping into and her easy writing style gets you hooked. i have a few issues with the story as i said in my review of Renillia one but i think my issues are going to be explained as we go along the series.

I received this book as a Goodreads winner. I really enjoyed this book, it had a touching, exciting story that I got really into. The only thing that took me out of the story were the few grammatical errors.. I would still recommend reading the earlier and later books in this series to find out more about these characters.
