This book is very dated, but has a good history of sign language section that I feel is worth reading. It also clarified many of the issues and debates going on in the Deaf culture concerning cochlear implants.

Skimmed through it. Needs more graphics so as to understand more how to sign a word but still learned basics. Like happy, love and airplane.
