Polly Thompson’s stories are concerned with the wellbeing of that marvelous creature, the horse; yet not till she was married with two children was she a horse owner. Besides participating in suburban New York and Connecticut horse shows and Pony Club events, she furthered her Cornell University-Nursing School education with courses in horsemanship and stable management. Thompson coached young and adult riders and school groups in dressage, jumping, and hunt seat equitation. After she and her family moved from the East Coast to the farm her husband, Peter, bought in southwest Minnesota, she broke and trained the offspring of her sport horse breeding program, conducted clinics, and judged horse shows. Polly Thompson lives with her husband in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, and Palm Desert, California.
