I'm a major beginner when it comes to photography. I just wanted to get the basics. This book was published in the 80's so obviously there are some things that are majorly outdated (especially when talking about film).

The good news is that many parts are still usable and I liked reading about different terms.

Different sections:
color
composition
line, shape, tone, contrast
silhouettes & abstracts,
light sources
depth of field
night photography
movement and zoom effects
exposures, aperture

If you are already into photography you will be bored with this book, but great for what I wanted to use it for.
