Roxy Adams pulls up in her yellow Porsche in this random town and the Sheriff immediately knows that she’s trouble. She is trouble for the town but even more she is trouble for him.
Within twenty-four hours he's pulled her out of a catfight, almost hauled her off to jail and spent the most incredible moments of his life in her bed. But Luke knows she'll love him and leave him soon enough. Still, before she does, he intends to make sure she'll miss being held in the long arms of a lawman.
Roxy figures the scrumptious sheriff thinks she's some spoiled city girl looking for attention. But in truth, she left Dallas to stay out of trouble. She's staying in town just until she's strong enough to move on. In the meantime, though, she's sure enjoying the scenery.… Only, the closer she gets to Luke, the more she can't bear to leave. Little does she guess her past is about to catch up with her.
4 Stars! ~ Roxy's always been the bad girl, doing whatever it took to get her father's attention. Losing first her mother, than her brother to addictions, only paved the path to her own destruction. Now she needs to do whatever it takes to survive, even driving away from Dallas for hours until running out of gas in the hottest of heat waves West Texas has seen in years. Luke's the Sheriff of Red Wing and when he comes across the heat exhausted long-legged beauty in the yellow porsche, he knows she's trouble. He admires her sassy attitude and her uncanny way of opening his eyes to the life that he's just been settling for. Their attraction is instant, and one they both try to fight. Luke's an elected sheriff and a fling with a pretty girl just passing through will taint his reputation. Roxy feels she's not worthy of Luke; he's the town's hero and should he find out about her past, he'll drop her like a hot potato.
This is Ms. Fox's debut and it's very good. It's steamier than most Temptations. Roxy has a wounded spirit and her struggle to find herself again is heartwarming. You can't help liking Luke. Roxy has him all twisted up and off balance. This story was written mostly from Roxy's point of view, I would have loved to be inside Luke's head a bit more. All in all, this was a great first book for Ms. Fox. I have her Blaze waiting in my TBR pile.

Absolutely unbelievable. Rich girl meets small town sheriff on lonely country road and they have an instant sexual connection which they indulge even though in said small town he had a decades old girlfriend who he's not even engaged to. Of course, honourable man that he is, they both do the nasty in the closed restaurant with everyone in the town being aware of it because they heard music in the night. Whew!!! This story was so fast it was unbelievable.
