Tai Chi is an effective and inexpensive wellness program for dealing with the stress of modern living. However, many don't have enough space to practice the traditional Tai Chi "forms." Tsao coils the traditional linear form into acircular format, taking only onequarter the area required to practice conventional Tai Chi. Each posture is illustrated to demonstrate the movement in detail. Tsao presents four independent sequences to meet the needs of all skill levels.
Just a note that despite what the description on Goodreads says, this book isn't about his 'spaceless mini Tai Chi' in five minutes. Tsao merely mentions in his introduction that he developed that for some government wellness training and it inspired him to think about developing the more thorough yet compact Tai Chi forms described here. This is, however, a very good book for learning forms that combine elements of different traditions and don't take up quite as much room as those traditional forms, working in a circle or tight spiral rather than the larger, rectangular space. (My house is still too small, alas, but I improvise. It amuses the dog.)It's well-illustrated with photos and the descriptions of movements are straightforward and comprehensible if you take them one element at a time to start out.
