This absorbing story about three children of Scottish and French origin who become lost on the Rice Lake Plains in the late eighteenth century provides the author with an opportunity to contemplate important themes of Canadian literature and identity.
This is a great story from a Canadiana perspective. It is about the adventures of three teens who get lost in the wilds of Upper Canada in the 1800's and what they do to survive. As the title suggests, it is the Robinson Crusoe story set in Canada.
Read for ENG352 Canadian Fiction. A nasty little piece of work that is an interesting window into the past that is still all too long despite being a children's novel.
