3 years ago I read this series to my class and now, two students get to hear it again, and they both vividly remembered and were excited for the “war games” that the trio of boys would engage in. My class laughed out loud as I read the lines of text that made it sound like a Gullah accent/language.
I personally love the eight lessons in this book and since reading the series when I was ten, they have stuck out to me and been applied to a variety of areas and scenarios in my own life.
2025-26 read aloud: this time what stood out was the breastplate and how there were so many symbolic things on it connecting to Jesus that my students asked about and were interested in identifying what it actually looked like. A breastplate isn’t like a belt in knowing what it looks like and what its job is.

Read all 4 of this series back to back... the work and the discribation of the places. people and items are awesome. It kept me in the zone. Great work ....Vamps, werewolfs, witches and in the 21st century... It goes and places you inside the Main Charater The skinwalker Jane Yellowrock and her most important friends and what she learns about herself and her worth....
I am really enjoying this series. Yes, it's Christian, but it's not hokey! This is the third book. In this book, Robbie's parents annouce that they're splitting up and Robbie goes into a deep depression. Skid, his dad, Elijah and Robbie take a vacation at the beach where Robbie learns to face his fears and stand up to his parents with his friends there to back him up.
My dad read this series first and loved it (he is almost 50). I really loved this series. I would read a chapter or two to my sisters before bed (4 girls, ages 5-12) and they loved the series so much that they want me to read it to them again. It is griping, with a strong Christian foundation. We met the author at the International Conference on Missions (ICOM) last year, she was very nice.
