The joy of this book is the photographs. The blurb really takes a back seat to that. It's interesting enough, but not that detailed and there are more specialist books that concentrate on various aspects of the Dreadnought programme, both here and overseas.

The photographs are astounding. Not so much of the ships, as a lot are either of something that is partly built and could be almost anything, or are mostly complete and just look like a ship. Instead, it is the heavy engineering and the plant used to create these ships that really grab the attention.

It's an easy read, being a book that you can get through very quickly as you take in the detail of each photograph.
