If you REQUIRE detailed pix & step-by-step patterns...
... I would not recommend this book. Too many crafters today rely heavily on “pristine” patterns & fear “not doing it right.” This book may be intimidating to newer knitters who haven’t established sufficient confidence or unwilling to “wing it” to bridge gaps when they don’t completely “see” where designer is going &/or unwilling to pull out stitches (frog) & improvise.
If you are more of an “Elizabeth Zimmerman” knitter, you may find the ideas here charming & somewhere to “leap from.” Designs aren’t “challenging” if you are looking for complex patterns & could be disappointing for very advanced knitters without sufficient sense of whimsy. If you tend to be on the “elite” side of knitting projects, you may be very disappointed.
If however, you are between the two extremes, don’t take either your knitting skills, projects, or yourself too seriously, are just looking for some fairly quick & simple projects, maybe prepared to “wing it” here & there & make these projects your own... or simply “steal” some inspiration & “recipes” to stew up your creative juices, this could be a five-star book for you.
I DIDN’T give it five stars because I can foresee people with specific expectations finding it disappointing. Given the fact I bought it in Kindle format practically free & found the cover photos sufficiently attractive to draw my attention AND that I tend to pick up yarn & a hook or needles rather than follow anybody’s patterns - it was neither more nor less than I was expecting so I was neither excited nor disappointed with what I received. I would LOVE, if book is ever updated, to see 2-3 PHOTOS included with each project but other than that - simply reading through - I am satisfied with the purchase.
Not sure I’ll knit many of the designs, but MAY very well “steal inspiration” from many of them. I will likely make at least one “monster” for gifting, as written, but more likely to “borrow” the concept to use up stash yarn & leftovers for inexpensive projects to sell or donate.
