Reading this old comic reminded me why Image comics and titles like WildC.ATS enjoyed such popularity in the nineties. Despite character archetypes and retread storylines, something about the art and writing just jumps off the page at you. To say that the model of artist-ownership inspired a better quality product holds truth, even when browsing through average comics of the day.
