The breeding biology, vocal behaviour, transequatorial migrations and population dynamics of the bird are described in detail and comparisons are drawn with other shearwaters and petrels, to show how the various species have adapted to local conditions worldwide. this is a great book about the natural history, biology and ecology of the Manx Shearwater.

I started reading a copy from the library on Skokholm island while there, and probably would have finished reading it if I'd had more time there. so I'm currently paused until I chance upon another copy ;)
