This is a perfect story surrounding Valentine’s Day if you are looking for more of the suspense thriller side of things. Don’t want the lovey dovey cutesy stuff ? This is your book. The writing flowed perfectly. It kept you on the edge of your seat and the descriptions of everything made you feel like you were there.
Just like with any good suspense thriller, just when you think you know who the bad guy is, you don’t. But when I tell you the SHOCK I felt when it was revealed who the stalker was, I am still in denial. This was such a good book.
I found this book crammed into the back of my work drawer when I started a new job and like any reader of course I had to give it a go.
It took me quite a bit of time to finish it. It is full of cliches that you would assume of a traditional thriller. Surprise pregnancy. “And then everyone clapped”. Ext.
I purchased this book because I am a fan of the movie, and I will say that the movie was very loosely inspired by this book. The general plot has some similarities, but the characters are all different and the story itself is quite different. I actually liked this aspect, since it made the story less predictable to me. I would like to re-read again sometime to see what details I missed.
4.5 stars. I like how a gay character ends up being the hero in a book from the 90s. That doesn’t count as a spoiler cause you don’t find out til the last minute who this person even is and how they’re connected the events of the story.
