This study is an examination of management in Eastern Europe. It begins with an overview, looking at management under state socialism, the collapse of communism and prospects for the future. Then, using the authors' firsthand knowledge and experience, it goes on to provide an analysis of management in the major countries of Eastern Europe, considering the background to the style of management in each of these countries, as well as their merits, differences and so forth. Such an analysis of management in other countries, particularly in an area of Europe that is attracting increasing interest, should provide a useful insight for students and allows for comparison and contrast - crucial aspects on many management courses.
