Rosemary Wells is an American writer and illustrator of children's books. She often uses animal characters to address real human issues. Some of her most well-known characters are Max & Ruby and Timothy from Timothy Goes To School (both were later adapted into Canadian-animated preschool television series, the former’s airing on Nickelodeon (part of the Nick Jr. block) and the latter’s as part of PBS Kids on PBS).
Penguin Young Reader Level 2 I love Rosemary Wells humorous bunny faces. They are just so silly. I realized I had to do a quick edit at the end to hopefully prevent my little three year old cousin from using his read marker to give himself chicken pox. I can't imagine the trouble we would both be in if his parents came home to that!
The book I have is a level one reader. My son prefers this high interest readers with characters from TV and movies as opposed to the basal readers that tend to be bland.
This story shares a common event among siblings and young readers will be able to relate with Max or Ruby or both.
Cute and funny! Perfect for emerging readers. We have just discovered the Penguin Young Readers series and so far they are great. The level system makes it east to choose a book that is right for my daughter!
This book was cute enough even though I'm not a fan of Max and Ruby. Max is annoying and speaks in one word sentences which is terribly annying and rubs off easily on my kids.
This is a "Level 2 - Progressing Reader" meaning it has longer sentences, simple dialogue, picture and context clues, and more in-depth plot development.
