This volume, the second in a series initiated by the American Enterprise Institute on national elections in the United States, traces the key events and trends in the 1982 off-year or mid-term elections. Appendixes present data in a historical context on the results and on campaign spending. Thomas E. Mann is executive director of the American Political Science Association and an adjunct scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. Norman J. Ornstein is professor of political science at the Catholic University of America and an AEI visiting scholar.
