This guide has now come in its 4th edition. I don't know the previous editions. This edition appears more detailed than other Chiang Mai guides I've seen. It is richly illustrated, contains many maps and suggestions for trips into the city's outskirts. It also has historical and cultural-historical sections. However, it is not interested in describing hotels, restaurants, bars, etc., although a great deal of such names are mentioned on the relevant maps. The book shows the author's great knowledge. It is aimed, presumably, especially for readers who already have a basic knowledge of Chiang Mai. Can be recommended as a guide number two.
