Despite the decisions of two courts, Meyer has encountered enormous obstacles to even seeing her sons, who her ex-husband abducted in 1994. And every year, tens of thousands more children in the United States and around the world are abducted by their non-custodial parent. The chances of recovering them are slim. This devastating story of the suffering and determination of one woman fighting for her children reveals an all-too-common tragedy of international scope -- and lodges a plea for urgent action on behalf of children's rights.
Heart wrenching account of the parental abduction of her two young boys. It exposes the German child abduction machine and the pathetic support of the British authorities. It is both disturbing and unbelievable that this could have occurred in the 1990's.
She writes of her hopes of a better future for those caught up in Anglo-German child abduction cases, but my own case as chronicled in The Key? shows this didn't happen.
Quite an insight into the dark world of international (parental) child abduction.
It was not an awful book but it was hard to fully get into. About half way through the book I really lost interest. I would read and would keep having to read the same paragraph over, it got frustrating so I did not continue reading the book.
While she may not have been the best story teller - I'm glad she got the book written to raise awareness. I was shocked the year this happened. "Recent events". So many people outraged yet their hands are tied. I hope this stops soon!!!
